Charities

One of the commitments made by Clearwater Consulting Concepts, LLLP, to the U.S. Virgin Islands territorial government was to actively become involved in supporting not-for-profit charitable organizations on the Islands. Much thought goes into what type of charitable organization we support, and what level of involvement in which our company and employees will engage them.

We are proud to have founded, established and support the following organizations:

Bricks-n-BooksThe Bricks-n-Books Project provides at-risk youths and other disadvantaged persons nationwide with opportunities to learn skills and develop attitudes that will enrich their lives and provide them with economic self-sufficiency in the global economy of the 21st century. Clearwater discerned early on the needs of at-risk youth and other disadvantaged persons in the US Virgin Islands, and set out to discover an organization that could fulfill a promise to serve their interests. Our search discovered Bricks-n-Books, and with our support, established and brought their mission and vision to the US Virgin Islands.

Bricks-n-Books' collaborative approach with the not-for-profit community has been met with resounding applause and acceptance among the community, not-for-profit organizations, and the government.

Clearwater  discovered an earnest desire from the Islands’ young women to obtain a college education, to develop their talents and to promote issues important to society. We also discovered, however, an extreme lack of financial assistance and professional opportunities available to the Islands young women to accomplish their admirable goals. Without reservation, we decided to establish the Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Organization.

Not only is the winner of the Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Pageant eligible to receive over $100,000 in educational scholarships, but she also devotes a year of her life to being the keynote speaker for a territory-wide youth motivational program established by Clearwater Consulting Concepts, LLLP.

In addition to the above, we are proud to support the following organizations:

Habitat-VI encourages volunteers to address the crisis of children in poverty by building homes with families in need in the U. S. Virgin Islands. Houses are built and then sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

In addition to building homes in partnership with families in need, Habitat for Humanity advocates for policies and legislation that will give even more families an opportunity to live in safe, decent and affordable homes.

Building Dignity! Housing problems have far-reaching consequences. The high cost of housing leaves low-income families little money for other basic necessities like food, clothing or health care. Substandard housing can endanger the health and safety of its occupants, erode their hope and self-worth, and impair their children's ability to succeed in school.

Building Relationships! We are actively looking for more partners:

Building Community! The first Habitat home in the Virgin Islands is underway. We have been gifted with our first building site at No. 4 Adele Gade in the Garden Street. The land has been partially cleared and many volunteers have removed truckloads of debris. But, we need greater resources to keep this project moving forward to completion. Let's build together!

The Humane Society of St. Thomas (HSSTT) is a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating cruelty, abuse, and the overpopulation of animals. We receive minimal local funds and rely on donations and special events.

HSSTT provides a wide variety of animal welfare programs to island residents and their pets, including pet adoptions, humane education, spay/neuter assistance, animal rescue and animal control.

Together we can make a difference in the lives of homeless and neglected animals, which, in turn, will make a difference in all our lives and help make this a better community.

A Community Foundation is a collection of permanent endowment funds established by an individual, family or business donors for the long term benefit of a particular geographic area. A volunteer Board of Directors representing the community's diverse population manages these funds and disburses the income from them as grants, services and scholarships to nonprofit organizations, service organizations, individuals and families. Because the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) classifies community foundations as public charities, donors who establish funds within the community foundation are often eligible for significant tax advantages that are not available through other forms of giving.

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) is still young, and its assets still small, but it belongs to an 80-year old philanthropic movement that is sweeping the United States and rapidly spreading into other countries. Almost 600 community foundations are now managing the combined assets of $30 billion and distributing the income to nonprofit organizations that are serving their local communities.

CFVI is a member of the Coalition of Community Foundations for Youth, a national network of action-oriented community foundations, advocacy groups, public policy makers, youth service organizations, business leaders, and other philanthropic organizations which collaborate to foster positive structural changes for children and youths within their own communities.

Beacon Schools of the Virgin Islands, Inc., is devoted to the mission of establishing, administering and promoting safe havens that offer tailor made after school community learning center opportunities  in direct response to the educational, economic and social needs of the middle, low and very low income children, youth and families residing in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Virgin Islands Montessori School and International Academy is committed to providing an Education For Life consistent with Montessori principles, reflecting the richness of our diverse Virgin Islands culture and upholding global college preparatory standards.
